The URL for the article is http://news.uchicago.edu/news.php?asset_id=1274. Although I enjoy the detail oriented approach, I'm also dissappointed at the treatment of mainstream neurophysiologists which tends to disregard any human factors such as the spirit and our relationship to the environment. I could also go on and on about the mathematical relationships in the brain like fractals, fourier transformations, and eigen states, but there's also the big picture: Not only are we made of the same components in the atmosphere. We are also part of the living harmonics of our environment. Geophysicist, Schumann, discovered the standing wave resonances around the earth. Later, the neurophysiologists discovered that the alpha rhythms match the Schumann resonances. What a coincidence? Since we generate binaural beats within our brains provided the external harmonics, it's obvious that we also respond to the standing wave harmonics of the earth in the same fashion. We are bioenergetic extensions of this planet. 2000 lightning storms at any given moment around this planet reflects human neural activity - which also tends to explain stress levels since the Schumann cavity resonance is changing.

I have recently begun to read and study on Taiko drumming from Japan - the very large drums that are at times called Rolling Thunder.
One story is they where used to infuse the spirit of warriors before battle.
I would like to know if you have information on their effect on the brain?!
