‘Alpha is Just a Jumping Off Place.’

Wayne Dyer once wrote that Burt Goldman had developed a superb method of reaching alpha, the First Stage Meditation. However it’s not simply reaching alpha that is important. It’s how you use alpha once you are there. Getting to alpha is easy; it’s like getting to a train station, or an airport. You get there, that’s the easy part, but now you have to go somewhere, where are you going?

Burt Goldman tests all of his concepts
and theories on himself long before
he does a seminar or writes a book.
This is Burt’s story on how he used
the alpha Level to reach certain goals
in his life, like becoming an artist.

I used the alpha level to become a photographer, when I knew nothing about photography and yet 24 of my photographs are hanging in the International Photography Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City

I used the alpha level to become a writer, when I knew nothing about punctuation, little about plot setting, and nothing at all about how to construct a saleable book and yet one of my books was published by Simon and Shuster, and has been translated into eleven languages.

I used the alpha level to become a singer, when I had never sung before and yet at age 64, I was offered three separate singing engagements not six months after the first time I sang before a group.

And most recently, I used the alpha level to become an Artist. I had never painted before, and couldn’t draw a figure or a house or anything. But in April of this year, 2005, I decided I would use the alpha level to do something that I knew I couldn’t do or know anything about since I didn’t take any art lessons nor had I ever read a book on the subject.

Before Burt became an artist he wondered “Can I also use alpha if I have a sudden strong desire to do something? Like becoming an artist?”

You can judge for yourself!

Burt painted all the paintings you see in a three month period. The first floral is the first painting he has ever done. The painting ‘Vincent’s bedroom’ is simply a general copy Burt made of the original Van Gogh, but you might even like it better. alpha is the jumping off place. Burt jumped from becoming an author into becoming an entertainer, a photographer and finally an artist.

But where do we want to jump? In what direction?
And how do you we get there?

This is how Burt used the alpha level to become an artist.

1. I went into the alpha State.
2. I prepared the jumping off place by building a mental image of the ‘me’ I most wanted to be.
3. I thought about an alternate reality, a Parallel Dimension.
4. I thought about the dimension where I was a respected artist.
5. I visualized an alternate me, a doppelganger, who was a respected artist.
6. I merged with him to gather in his energy.
7. I came back to the jumping off place taking the energy of the ‘artist me’ back with me.
8. I came out of alpha and picked up the yellow pages to find out where the nearest art store was so I could buy canvass, brushes, and paints.
9. I began painting.
10. I photographed my paintings and had them put into my website.
